The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) has charged the government with trying once again to divide the cadres in the name of fresh bid for peace talk. In its latest issue of the mouthpiece Freedom, the banned insurgent outfit has said the government is trying it level best to confuse the outfit saying a section of jailed ULFA leaders led by Mrinal Hazarika has sent letter to the Chief Minister through IGP Khagen Sarma expressing the willingness for peace initiative afresh. The outfit has cleared that it’s a mis-publicity from the part of the government.
On the other hand, on the question of veteran journalist Sanjoy Hazarika’s recent meeting with Prime Minister raising the credibility question of Dr Indira Goswami, the proscribed rebel outfit said formerly Hazarika not known to be a RAW informer. He was appreciated after he published the Strangers in the Mist. But he told the world that ULFA is nothing but a law and order problem that could be resolved only with army operation.
