Himanta meets dissident colleagues

Dissident Congress leaders are believed to have agreed to float a regional party very soon to block Congress poll prospect.

The outgoing party veteran Hiranya Bora and his closed associates Bolin Kuli, Diganta Kalita also attended the meeting along with Abu Taher Bepari, Pradan Baruah, Siddique Ahmed at the official residence of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

All they decided to float a new regional party which would be a coalition partner of AGP, AUIDF, BPF, Ganamukti. Paper works are in progress to be finalized on July 21.

Dr Sarma’s meeting with dissident colleagues assumed significance a day after he, Piyush Hazarika and Jayanta malla Baruah met AGP leadership at the residence of an AGP ideologue on Monday midnight.
