Kalaigaon BJP opposes tie up with AGP, BPF

Local BJP leader Niranjan Singh on Saturday that political squall is blowing in Assam with just four months left for the Assembly polls in the State. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Singh said that he has strongly opposed BJP’s alliance with BPF and AGP. He said that the people of Kalaigaon LAC fed up with the misrule of BPF and AGP.

TET stages dharna

BTAD contractual TET qualified (elementary) teacher's association stages dharna at Rajmela ground on Saturday demanding regularisation the post  of TET qualified teachers, provide salary as per ROB-2010. The teachers displayed  banners, placards, shouted slogans. The techers demanded immediate functioning of the advertisement published in Assam Tribune newspaper on February 5 in 2014 vide adv no. DE/BTC/Apptt-165/A/2013/145,3rd Feb, 2014 Against 2125 posts for the TET qualified candidates, introduce new pension scheme to the qualified teachers, transferring the TET qualified teachers in their proper ground, release the salaries on schedule time, legal enquer for appointing 1438 now. of elementary teachers of 2005-06, proper implementation of RTE Act 2009. 

The protesters later submited a memorandum to director of education of BTC seeking early solutions of TET teacher's problems in the region.

Goods train damaged in explosion in NC hills

Three compartments of a goods train got damaged as militans exploded a poweful bomb on a railway track in North Cachhar district on Sunday morning.

According to information, the incident took place between Maibongdisa and Harangajao stations in the hills disitct.

According to Northeast Frontier railway sources, no report of injury to any person in the blast. Top ranked police officers along with railway officers have arrived on the spot. Investgation is on.

Body recovered

Police recovered body of Taracharan Das, 55, peon of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Kokrajhar branch this evening in Kokrajhar. 

According to police, body of Das was found on death condition at Kapili lodge above the bank complex building when after bank official noticed that his lifeless body lying inside a room. 

Police recovered the body breaking door of the room in the presence of bank official and magistrate.

It was suspected that Das, who hailed from Mirza was had over consumed alcohol late last night and met a misery life, said a senior police officer.
