Amit Shah on visit to Guwahati

BJP president is on stock taking visit to Guwahati nine months ahead of the assembly polls.

Immediately after landing at the Borjhar airport, he along with 10 other top leaders straightly arrived at the Machkhowa ITA to address the convention of the party’s north eastern leaders.

Later in the day he would met the state leadership to take stock of the state’s pre poll political landscape.   

He is scheduled to leave the city in the evening.

Wrong News. After landing at Borjhar LGBI Airport, he went to Hotel Rituraj where he conducted a personal meeting for more than one hour and then around 12:10 proceeded to ITA Machkhowa from where he left for Delhi.

Sensational revelations have come to light after the powerful grenade explosion severed hands of Raju Ali in Sivasagar town on Tuesday.Ali told police that he saw two motorcycle born youths lobbed the grenade at him. But according to sources, he was an army informer and he kept some explosives inside his home in BG Road near the Station Chariali. Notably, crude bombs were found in and around his residents at regular intervals.    The explosion took place at his house at around 11 in the morning. Ali’s hands were severed under the impact of the explosion.Later security forces recovered one more crude bomb inside his house. Ali was rushed to the Assam Medical College Hospital....

An irate mob in Dhekiajuli vandalized NDFB’s designated camp hours after Sonitpur additional S Guljar Hussian and a policemen were killed in an encounter at Haulangi on Tuesday.Local residents in large number came out the street and thronged the NDFB designated camp. A section of the people attacked several pro talk militants while some others vandalized the designated camp.Later security forces rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday ordered intensified action against NDFB-S militants after they killed Sonitpur’s additional SP Guljar Hussain and a policeman at an encounter in Dhekiajuli in the morning.Talking to reporters at the Assam Assembly secretariat in Dispur, Gogoi said that the government won’t allow the Bodo militant outfits to carry out any attack further.

A powerful grenade explosion has left one person injured in Sivasagar town on Tuesday.The explosion took place at a house in Station Chariali at around 11 in the morning. Identified as Raju Ali, the injured has lost one of his hands under the impact of the explosion.The bomb was believed to have been brought to explode on the Republic day and was kept inside the house.Security forces rushed to the spot and sent the injured Ali to the Assam Medical College Hospital.

An additional superintendent of police was among two were killed in an encounter with NDFB-S in Sonitpur district on Tuesday.The encounter took place at Batashipur in Dhekiajuli along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh interstate border where additional SP Guljar Hussain and a policeman were killed. At least 6 other policemen were injured and they were shifted to the nearest hospital.Hussain has left behind a 3-year-old daughter and a 15 days old infant son.
