DHD(J) suspends killings in NC hills

Bloods in the blue hills of North Cachar stops spilling as the DHD(J) militants have suspending their operations from Friday. Talking to a satellite TV channel on Friday its publicity secretary Faifrang Dimasa said there will not be any killing from today but made it clear that they will not allow work on National Highway and broad gauge conversion projects until the Government signs ceasefire pact with them.

Number of Dimasa militant group are formed so far in hills formed in the name of tribe protection and with most beautiful and wonderful aims and objectives their mind can ever think of. But after ceasefire, they forget everything, they extract money and wealth from poor and needy people and with that they celebrate their honeymoon with that. They also go around the villages like village dog showing the way for the armies. It had been many a times that they killed innocent poor uneducated villagers, not the armies.this thing was done by present DHD (ceasefire group). Now if new group will get ceasefire there will be more of that stuffs. All national highway and railway lines coming up to our place is something we should be very happy and proud about. Why the hell they need to interfere in that.instead they are the one who is suppose to give securities and force them to complete it as soon as possible.looking at all these do you think that they are forming group for the good of tribe as they say themselves?no development no nothing,going from bad to worse is just because of militants.

A 12 hour bandh is disrupting normal life in upper Assam’s Sivasagar district from 6 in the morning on Friday. Called by a few organizations to protest the recent killing of a civilian in Moran, the bandh has thrown normal life out of gear. Police and forest department officials in the city's Dispur area have seized skins and flash of deer and yak with some arms and ammunitions during a joint raid on Thursday. According to information, the joint raid was conducted at the residence of Manu Bezbaruah on the basis on the confessional statement of Shivaji Baruah who was arrested by police on Tuesday. An earthquake of mild intensity was felt some parts of Assam and Meghalaya early in the morning on Thursday.Measuring a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale, the tremor occurred at around 6-45 with its epicenter at latitude 26.3 degrees north and longitude 92.5 degrees east in Morigaon district of Assam, about 85 km from the Central Seismological Observatory (CSO) at Upper Shillong.
