NC hills: Cental body to study security aspects

Sensation still prevails in North cachar hills district a day after the Black Widow militant shot dead ten truckers minutes after they gunned down a train driver in between Mopa and Kalachand.

This has forced Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who is on a week long China trip, to cut short his visit.According to information, Mr Gogoi is schedule arrive back the state on Friday.

On the other hand, the Centre has sought a detail report on the situation in the hills district which is posing a serious threat to a number of central government sponsored projects besides the Umrangsu based power project.

Meanwhile, our New Delhi correspondent has informed the Centre is taking serious note of these uncomfortable situation. Union minister for heavy public industry Santosh Mohan Dev called on Prime Minister Dr Mamohan Singh who immediately asked the national security adviser M K Narayanan to look into into it. According to sources, the Centre is forming a high level committee to study the security aspects of the hills district where the construction projects are set to come to a grinding halt.
