Gogoi's effigy burnt on NRC move

Various political parties and organizations burnt the effigy of chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday alleging his move to include Bangladeshi immigrants in the NRC.

BJP and AJYCP activists in several places across the state thronged many public places and burnt Gogoi’s effigies and shouting slogans threatening to launch a massive protest against the decision seeking Centre’s seal of approval to include the name of those who figure in the electoral rolls.
