Flood fury unchanged

Altogether 17 districts are reeling under flood that marooned over 3 lakh people till Wednesday. 

The situation still is alarming where the surging waters of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries have covered more areas during the last 24 hours.

 Lakhimpur is worst hit district where over 50,000 people have been rendered homeless during the last ten days. This is followed by Barpeta where over 2,300 people being trapped.

 Other flood hit districts include Bongaigaon, Lakhimpur and Baksa, Dhemaji, Morigaon, Jorhat, Tinsukia and Dhubri where flood fury has taken three lives apart from destroying crops on 1,200 hectares of land.
