Akhil Gogoi’s arrest triggers statewide protest in the form of dharna, road blockade by many organizations on Wednesday.
Backed by the various organizations, KMSS activists in large number hit the streets from Wednesday morning demanding immediate release of the KMSS leader.
Shouting anti government slogans, the protesters threatened to launch a massive protest if Gogoi was not released. “I won’t bend till Akhil Gogoi is release. We will disperse only after his release,” said Naren Saikia in Tinsukia who along with others blocked the road in the morning.
A local court in Guwahati sent Gogoi and Kamal Medhi to jail after police arrested the duo for allegedly inciting their supporters to disrupt the functionings of the Assam Public Service Commission from Monday.
