The state of the roads are pathetic, civil administration is non existent and security is a major concern.A meeting was held on Sunday between Citizen Groups and representatives from the different Municipal Wards and the Municipality Chairman. A development committee comprising of citizens and residents of KB Road adjoining areas has been set up to plan and implement development. Senior Citizens of KB Road, Mr Jiban Barkataky and Mr S Sonowal while speaking to Assam Times have welcomed these initiatives.

A NDFB-S rebel identified as Buddhiram Basumatary alias Birkw of Amteka Debrabil in Chirang district was apprehanded from Karigaon area in Kokrajhar by security forces belonging to the Army on Sunday morning. Congress is gearing up to form the Tiwa Autonomous Council after the ruling party won 15 out of 31 seats.
