SPOs serve self immolation threat

At least 850 special police officers have threatened self immolation if the authorities fail to implement the promises. 

Addressing a press conference in Lumding on Wednesday, the policemen who joined the mainstream before being appointed as special police officers said that they would launch an indefinite on June 6 demanding early steps to implement the promises.

“Enough is enough. We are tired of waiting. If the government fails further then we have no option but to self immolate,” said the SPOs.   

 They said that the government assured them of steps to ensure recruitment in Assam industrial security force which has yet to be materialized.
