Pranshree tops HS science

Pranshree Kalita tops the HS science stream while his counterpart in the arts stream is Manash Pratim Goswami. Sweta Agarwal tops the commerce stream as the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has declared the results on Saturday. 

Pranshree scores with an aggregate of 490 out of 500 marks while Manash and Sweta share the top scorer position in commerce stream with an aggregate of 469 marks.

Xatra Mahaxabha President condemned Bhimajuli incident

The All Assam President of Asom Xatra Mahaxabha Bhadra Krishna Goswami condemned the recent killing at Bhimajuli in Biswanath Chariali in Sonitpur District in a press meet today at the premises of Barpeta press club. He said that the peaceful Assamese Society is under the grip of evil power at present. such type of bloodstains happened only for the rise of illegal migrants from Bangladesh. He again urged the people of Assam to unite together to fight against the evil sources of our state. Asom Xatra MahaXabha is not only for the development of the Xatras of Assam, It is also an organization to develop the spiritual,economic, cultural, agriculture etc sides of the state. The president also said that the motto of Asom Xatra Mahaxabha is to develop the society as a whole, it doesnot mean only the religious development.

Rocking Angels by Godwins School

Education is all encompassing constituting the scholastic and co- scholastic pursuit. For the healthy growth of a child both these areas need to be addressed in any school. In a bid to enhance quality education GODWINS School which was established in 1996 in the city. GODWINS School had observed parents day and a cultural programme of the primary section on 22nd December at the auditorium of Sankardev Kalakhetra. 

Titled as ‘Rocking Angels’, this event has witnessed cultural programme performed by the students of the primary section.  Students performed bihu dance, Manipuri dance apart from modern dance and other cultural activities.  This was organised to give focus on co- scholastic perspectives of the students and to engage them in creative activities through various means. Event was inaugurated by Thoiren Singha, Chairman of the school and was attended by Chadrajini  Singha, founder Principal of the school, Pankaj Das Director of Modern English School, Fr John Kochupura , Principal of St Claret School , Borjhar. 

Parents and guardians apart from teachers, students, ex students and well wishers attended the event.  Balraj Singha, Principal of GODWINS School while addressing the audience has thanked all the individuals for making the event a great success. He had also mentioned about various initiatives taken by the school for the development of quality education amongst children. 

Hmar students claimed three positions in NEHU PG exam

Three members of the Hmar Students Association (HSA) in Shillong claimed three positions in the recently announced Post-graduate examination held under North Eastern Hill University (NEHU). The three successful students are Mr. J. Lalhmahruaia (S/o Lalruatthanga, Phuoibuong, Mizoram) who is ranked 5th Position in M.A (Economics), Mr. Simon L Infimate (S/o Lalpansang Infimate, Parbung/ Shillong) ranked 8th Position in M.A (Geography) and Miss Jocica Lalhrietpui Buhril (D/o (L) L.H. Tluonga Buhril, Shillong) who also claimed the 8th Position in M.A (Lib. Info. Science). Results for other subjects of the PG exams is expected to be declared this month.
