The College of Aeronautical Engineering, the only aircraft maintenance engineering institute of northeast India has organized an aviation awareness programme for scribes at Guwahati Press Club on 21 April 2015. The day long programme will begin with the felicitation to some renowned aviation personalities from Assam including Air Marshal (Retd) P K Barbora, Kanu Gohain, Anjan Gogoi and Air Commodore (Retd) D J Sharma.
The media aviation awareness programme will cover the history of aviation, government regulatory departments and authorities, aircraft, operators, engineering department, ground handling, aircraft accidents, incidents & their investigations, role of human factors, meteorological department, air traffic control in safety and development of aviation especially in northeast India.
It may be mentioned that the College of Aeronautical Engineering, which is approved under DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation (GoI), was established in 2009. Interested students of the alienated region have been benefited as they are getting international civil aviation organization type-II training in this institution with 100% placement records. This institution is also performing various aviation related social activities for the development of the aviation industry in the region.
The interested scribes are requested to join in the program that will begin at 11 am and conclude by 3 pm.
