Off season bihu in Gurgaon
One and a half months are left for Rongali Bihu. But Gurgaon is throbbing with the sounds of dhol, pepa and gogona. Bihu songs come alive in Gurgaon much to the delight of the north eastern people when the metropolitan city in Haryana is holding a Vintage Car rally on Saturday.
“I am very excited to enjoy it as I am far away from my home state, said Sandeep Chetia. The youth who works with a call centre that the Bihu songs are popular among a section of non Assamese people as well.
Sampriti Baruah, a Kirorimol College student who is pursuing a degree course in English told Assam Times that they the Assamese people will also celebrate bihu with much pomp and gaiety. “But I am emotional to have heard the Bihu songs now,” said she.
Organizers told Assam Times that they have met 57 people from Assam who visited the car rally on Saturday alone. That’s why, they have procured a Bihu player to entertainment them.
