Even after an impressive performance in the recent civic polls, all is not well with Assam BJP. Pradyut Bora is set to quit the party on Wednesday.
In a post of Facebook, the senior BJP leader upped ante on the state unit leadership. He said he was preparing his resignation letter to the party president to be sent on Wednesday.
Three months back, Bora revealed former minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s attempt to join BJP. Bora was dead opposed to it while the party leadership in the state virtually refused to read him.
Bora in his Facebook post gave ten reasons against Dr Sarma’s entry into BJP. A circle of party senior leaders opposed the move while some others raised no objection. Finally, Dr Sarma did not join the party. But the entire issue widened the rift within the party.
