Will Assam go AAP way?

The landslide victory for AAP in Delhi is set to be the big booster for its workers in Assam. Thousands of people are in touch with the Assam AAP leadership for joining the party.

“Yes, it has boost our morale. We are receiving many phone calls from the people during the last three days who are keen to join us,” said an AAP leader in Guwahati on Thursday.

He said ,”membership drive is yet to take place. We are accepting only the honest people to join our party. We would screen the people who are interested in us.”    

Another senior AAP leader told Assam Times that they have so far received over 5,000 phone calls for joining the party. But he said that they are not in a haste as they have still time for the assembly polls.

Party boss Arvind Kejriwal is expected to visit Guwahati during the next couple of months to boost the morale of the AAP leaders and workers which is expected to help them refurbish their image as the party drew blank in the last Lok Sabha polls.   

Party leaders told Assam Times that flood havoc, illegal immigration and unemployment would be their thrust areas if they come to power in the next assembly polls.
