Assam and Nagaland officials are hammering out a slew of measures to restore bonhomie between the north eastern states at an earlier date.
Attended by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Virender Mittal and his Mokokchung counterpart Sushil Kumar Patel, the brainstorming meeting at Mokokchung on Wednesday vowed to boost the age old bonhomie between Assam and Nagaland.
Chaired by Mokokchung DIO (NIC) Temsuwati, the close door meet stressed immediate measures to ensure peace along the interstate border.
Both sides agreed to accord priority is to maintain peace and tranquility along the border through people to people contact and socio-economic relationship. They further felt that ugly heads of suspicion, mistrust and misunderstanding should not be allowed to rise between the two States.
