Dispur plans own bill

The Assam Government is preparing a land acquisition bill of its own after it rejected the Centre’s move.

Talking to reporters in Guwahati on Wednesday, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that his government has already refused to accept the Centre’s move, that’s why, Dispur is in the process for a new bill.

Gogoi, however, said that he is not sure of when the new bill would be allowed to come up in the assembly. “If we will be ready with the Bill we will bring it in next month," said Gogoi.
