Carnage: NIA steps in

Finally NIA has stepped in. The country’s premier investigation agency registered a criminal case in connection with the recent NDFB-S carnage where at least 80 people lost their lives in Kokrajhar, Sonitpur and Chirang districts.

NIA registered four cases after examining the relevant papers handed over by police. The agency took over the case after Union Home Ministry Rajnath Singh agreed to accepted chief minister Tarun Gogoi’s request.

Government Extends AFSPA in Manipur Amidst Ethnic Clashes
