Bodo novel released

A Bodo novel titled Malotini Dao Moina, penned by Akedemy award winner author Bidyasagar Narzary, was released on December 29, 2014 in Guwahati book fair. Eminent journalist DN Chakrabarty, while releasing the novel, appreciated the literary works of Narzery, who used to work as a high profile officer in Press Information Bureau. The historical novel in Bodo language is published by NL Publications Guwahati. Narzary has penned nearly ten novels among those Birgwsrini Thungri brought laurels to the writer with the prestigious Sahitya Akedemy award in 2008.

The book release function, presided over by journalist Nava Thakuria, was also addressed by Bodo Sahitya Sabha dignitary Taren Boro, writer Padma Patar and the author of Malotini Dao Moina.

ULFA(I) Hands Down death to two

The United Liberation Front of Assam (I) handed down the death penalty to two of its cadres for their alleged involvement with espionage. In a press communique, the outlawed outfit said that its two cadres, Sanjiv Sarma and Dhanjit Das, were found to be involved in espionage. Diphu and Dibrugarh: People thronged through thousands in Diphu to catch a glimpse of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister was in the hills district on Thursday. ULFA spots conspiracy to finish the outfit

Guwahati: The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I) has alleged a nefarious conspiracy by police and the army to crush their spine, engaging a section of youths who were dispatched to the jungles to join the rebel outfit. In a statement sent to media,  the proscribed outfit claimed to have caught the conspiracy as they grilled a youth from Baihata Chariali in Kamrup who recently joined the outfit.  They have published a list of youths who were trained to target the outfit.. Massive erosion in Congress

Raijor Dal Gets ECI Registration

Raijor Dal,  floated in 2020, has finally received the Election Commission of India (ECI) registration. APCC Refutes Reports of more Leaders Deserting the Party

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has refuted reports that some more leaders would soon desert the party. According to some reports, among others,  former minister and MP Prodyut Bordoloi, former minister and MLA Rockeybool Hussain, and former minister Bismita Gogoi would quit the party at any time. Congress top leader quits party, joins TMC

New Delhi : In yet another significant development in the field of politics,  Assam's former Congress president and outgoing Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora quits the party and joined TMC on Sunday.
