NDFB-S carnage toll 68: Gogoi

The Assam government has confirmed that the death toll in the serial NDFB-S serial attacks in Sonitpur, Kokrajhar and Chirang districts has gone up to 68.   

According to chief minister Tarun Gogoi, the dreaded attack took place in two places in Sonitpur where the toll stands at 37.

He said that 25 others were killed in Kokrajhar district while the toll in Chirang district is 3. The deceased included 21 women and 18 children.

Senior ministers Nilamani Sen Deka and Basanta Das have been camping in Kokrajhar district and Chirang while Rockybul Hussain, Prithbi Majhi and Tanka Bahadur Rai are monitoring the situation in Sonitpur district.
