10 killed in Patkriguri firing
At least 10 persons were killed and other eight have sustained injury when NDFB-S militants unleashed a reign of terror in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday a day after a powerful grenade exploded which left three injured. The fresh incident took place at around 6 in the evening when the militants started indiscriminate firing on a group of villagers at Pakriguri in Serfanguri. The deceased, including 2 minor boys were identified Sonmai Murmu (10), Sunita Hasda(10), Moni Beshra (18) and Marium Murmu(45). Identified as Thala Tudu( 7), Anniniya Tudu(10) and Stefen Hasda(15). The injured are battling for life at Kokrajhar Civil hospital. Security forces arrived in the spot at 6 in the evening. But by then militants left the village. Combing operation is in progress to nab the culprits.
