Youth programme on entrepreneurship

North East Youth Foundation (NEYF) in association with All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Boro Bazar Anchalik Committee had organised an awareness programme on career opportunities, entrepreneurship and skill development for college students and other young people at Boro Bazar in Udalguri district on 14th December. The aim of the programme was to disseminate information on career opportunities, self employment opportunities through entrepreneurship and skill training. Programme was moderated by Ranjan K Baruah of NEYF. He spoke on various opportunities and focused on the importance of creativity, communication skills apart from formal qualification .He also gave an overview of different skill training programme and how one can be benefited from such programme. ‘As the government jobs are limited, so we have to think beyond mere government jobs’, said Mr. Baruah. ‘We have to utilize and make best use of our available resources with ideas and creativity to be self employed and earn in descent way’, said Mr Nerkhang Khaklary, President of ABSU Udalguri district who was also addressing the participants. . ‘Exposure and information are important if we want to move ahead “,added Mr Dipen Bodo, Adviser of ABSU Udalguri .There was an outdoor interaction session with the participants after the talk apart from classroom games and activities to make the programme participatory and vibrant. Other office bearers of ABSU’s Boro Bazar committee were also present on the occassion along with some leading personalities of the area. Reading materials and information brochures were distributed amongst participants for references.
