Nagaland Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya took over as Assam governor on Friday a day after JB Patnaik left the state ending five years tenure.
Gauhati High Court chief justice administered Acharya the oath of office and secrecy at a brief function at the Raj Bhawan in the morning. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi along with his cabinet colleagues and other political leaders attended the function.
Gogoi received the Nagaland Governor at the LGBI Airport on Thursday afternoon. Acharya is also holding additional charge as governor of Tripura.
