Police and intelligence heavyweights are holding a crucial conference in Guwahati to devise a mechanism to thwart the impending danger.
The two day long conference which got underway on Saturday focuses the internal security threat in the north eastern region. IB chief Syed Ashif Ibrahim said that the need of the hour is a set of policy to efficiently deal with the fragile security of the region.
According to him, the north eastern militants are camping in the dense jungles in the neighboring countries to monger trouble in the region at regular intervals.
Opening the conference in Khanapara, Union home minister Rajnath Singh stressed need to curb ethnic conflicts in the entire region. He further stressed stern action against the militants who have been disturbing peace initiatives in the eight north eastern states.
