There is no respite for Sadananda Gogoi. A special court on Wednesday refused to grant bail for the singer whom CBI arrested in connection with the Saradha scam.
After accepting CBI’s prayer, the additional chief judicial magistrate in Alipore extended judicial term for Gogoi till December 3 along with three others accused in the multi-crore scam. They include retired IPS officer Rajat Majumdar, East Bengal Club official Debabrata Sarkar and businessman Sandhir Agarwal.
CBI named all of them in the second chargesheet filed on Monday before this court charging them under sections 120b, 409 and 420 of IPC (criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and cheating) and also under sections four and six of the Prize, Chit and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act 1978.
