Amid flutter in political landscape following Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s move to join BJP, Pradyut Bora sharpens attack on the former minister.
In his post in a social networking site on Wednesday, the BJP national executive member has outlined a number of reasons opposing Dr Sarma’s entry in BJP.
Bora charged the former minister with helping late Hiteswar Saikia rush the spine of the Assam Agitation. Moreover, he said that Dr Sarma did precious little to implement the Assam Accord when he held the portfolio from 2011 to 14. Bora has called Dr Sarma a betrayer who forgot the sacrifice of 855 martyrs.
Quoting the recent press conference of the Congress leaders, the senior BJP leader said that the family members of the ULFA victims won’t forgive Dr Sarma who collected money to procure arms for ULFA.
Bhrigu Kumar Phukan was his mentor. But everybody knows what the Jalukbari AGP leader got from Dr Sarma in return.
Bora further said that Dr Sarma played a crucial role in the horse trading to ensure victory of a Congress candidate in the Rajya Sabha election. Finally, Bora said that Dr Sarma has created an acrimonious scene within his own party and if he is allowed to join BJP same it will happen.
Notably, it was Bora who revealed Dr Sarma’s secret move to join BJP to get rid of the impending CBI action in connection with Saradha scam. But Dr Sarma suggested Bora to read the Gita.
