No MLA will join BJP: CM

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi said that he was not aware of any move of Congress legislator to join BJP. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Guwahati on Wednesday, “Its I think not true. If anybody wants to join anywhere let them do it,” Gogoi said.

His reaction comes a day after a BJP MLA claimed that over 15 sitting MLAs from Congress are in talks with BJP leadership to join the party.

Government Extends AFSPA in Manipur Amidst Ethnic Clashes

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, to six police stations across five districts in Manipur.
