No breakthrough on trucker killers
Sensation still prevails in Joypur area in Kokrajhar a day after miscreants shot dead a trucker forcing the security to step up offensive against the perpetrators.
Police men tracking the case are tightlipped on the breakthrough where the miscreants started indiscriminate firing at a truck leaving the driver Kiren Ray who hails from Salmara area in Bongaigaon dead on the spot.
Identified as Ranja Sangma ,the helper who sustained bullet injury has battling for life in the hospital.
The miscreants targeted the LPG truck bearing registration no. NL-01L 1021 when it was on its way Guwahati from West Bengal.

With extending support to the United People's Party ahead scheduled Assam assembly election on April 11 next, Rafikul Sheik, vice president of Kokrajhar district committee of AIUDF joined in UPP at a party meeting at Fakiragram under Kokrajhar west LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.
