Chief minister Tarun Gogoi has arrived in Guwahati on Friday. Gogoi, who left for New Delhi last week landed at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at 9-30 in the morning.
Sources told Assam Times that the party high command has already approved his list of new ministers and asked him to reshuffle the cabinet. The reshuffle is expected to take place on Monday.
During his stay in the capital, the chief minister met Union home minister Rajnath Singh and apprised him of the latest situation along the Assam-Nagaland border areas.
On Wednesday, he met prime minister Narendra Modi and urged him to help the state firmly deal with the jihadi elements. He further handed over to him a memorandum raising a number of demands.
