The advantage Highlanders have scored the only goal against the Kerala Blasters at the end of the thrilling first session of the ISL second match at the Sarusajai Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Monday evening.

It was the never-say-die spirit Koke who posted the goal on behalf of the North East United FC at the fag end of the first session. The second half of the second ISL Match ended without any goal.

As soon as the clock struck at 7 in the evening, the highlanders started taking on Kerala Blasters FC in the second match of the Hero Indian Super League in Guwahati. The Sachin Tendulkar-owned Kerala Blasters gave the NorthEast United no chance after the match got underway in presence of lakhs of fans at the packed stadium. 

Kerala Blasters have pinned hopes on Mehtab to unleash his potential on the opposition and try to defy all UnitedNorth East strikes. The home side will focus Cornell Glen. The former Trinidad & Tobago World Cupper, who has experience in playing with Shillong Lajong. Another NorthEast United FC spotlight was Alexandros Tzarvos, Greece's 2010 World Cup goalkeeper.

Kerala Blasters are also relying on the season Penn Orji. Morgan may rely on his former hand to unlock the home defence which will be helmed by marquee player Joan Capdevila.

In a move that defies the Supreme Court order, the Meghalaya Government has issued permission again to transport coals in the state. In it modified order, the NPP-led coalition Government permitted coal transportation triggering protest from the opposition parties and organizations. The apex court on January 15 asked the state to ban on coal transportion after the coal-mine tragedy where as many as 20 miners were believed to have trapped inside a flooded mine in East Jaintia District. The government issued order to implement the top court order. But suddenly on Sunday, the government modified the order allowing the transportation of coal.

Despite hint of action by party leadership, yet another BJP MLA has on camera spoke up something that goes against the spirit of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. He is none other that Jogen Mohan, the MLA from Mahmora in Sivasagar district who said that he was always with the people and their sentiment. “We are watching the entire schemes of thing and once we get wind of anything that could damage Assam and its people we would never remain quiet,” said Mohan He said he would never allow anybody to compromise the interest of Assam and that the Bill has something which are still not in the know. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 is dividing the state BJP legislators much to the major embarrassment of the central leadership who are annoyed with the on going schemes of things. Yet another BJP MLA has spoken to his mind opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 on Wednesday. That too the state party leadership have asked Rhituparna Baruah not to speak out before media. Hours after the Lahowal MLA received the diktat, his Bihpuria counterpart Devanand Hazarika openly said that there was a little ground to support the Bill in question. Talking to media, he said he won't go against the wish of his people and that those detected as immigrant in NRC should be pushed back. Hazarika is the fifth one BJP MLAs who stood up against the Bill. Earlier, Atul Bora, Hitendra Nath Goswami, Padma Hazarika and Rhituparna Baruah have spoken up against the Bill.

AGP veteran and former minister Biraj Kumar Sarma passed away in Guwahati on Tuesday. Sarma, who was suffering from ailment breathed his last at the Nemcare Hospital in the city at 2.30 in the afternoon where he was undergoing treatment.
