Congress alleges BJP MLAs role in compensation scam

Buoyed by the induction of 2 NPP MLAs and 3 BJP leaders, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has sharpened attack the State government charging a section of minister with embezzling the compensation fund meant for the trans Arunachal Highway project.

Addressing a press conference in Itanagar, state Congress president Takam Sanjay said the verification report on the Potin-Bopi TAH compensation scam has clear mention of MLAs from Raga, Yachuli and Ziro. He said he had gone through the report where he came to know these names for their involvement in the scam. According to him, RKM Hospital should not be a central jail for the VIPs while Jullang central jail is for the poor people.

The Congress leader said, “The law should be equal; its equal for all and it should target equally each and every one, irrespective of their positions.”

Controversy dogs Asom Sahitya Sabha

Asom Sahitya Sabha is mired in yet another controversy with former secretary of the Sabha and the sitting president are lashing out at each other.

Addressing a press conference in the city on Friday, Patgiri along with Satyendra Narayan Goswami, Krishna Rai Medhi, Dharani Goswami said the Asom Sahitya Sabha president Kanaksen Deka must quit the post for his involvement in some cases of extortion which is degrading the value of the state's largest literary body. Also they say there are some other cases which is why the Sabha officials have to hang their heads in shame. Therefore, they demanded Deka's resignation saying he had lost his moral rights.

Believers Eastern Church raises fund for Kerala flood victims.

Hojai:- Believers Eastern Church Satgaon Mission Diocese,Lanka in Hojai District  conducted two days fund-raising campaign at Bokolia,Langhin and Dokmoka town on 21st and 22nd August in aid of people affected by the current spell of devastating floods in Kerala, a Press Communique stated.

As per the press communique, A team from Believers Eastern Church Satgaon Mission Diocese under the leadership Father  Thanghao holding the placards and banner with a message "An Appeal For Kerala Flood Relief" mobilised funds for the flood-affected people of Kerala by visiting various shops , vendors and some other parts of the town as part of the two day-long fund-raising campaign.

In a statement, Father Thanghao said as the Kerala is reeling under flood havoc,hundreds of people have already lost their lives, bearing those pain Believers Eastern Church Satgaon Diocese have come forward to support the people of Kerala in this time of adversity.

He said funds raised through the two day-long campaign, along with relief material, will be sent to Kerala government’s flood relief fund for distribution among the flood victims in Kerala.

 He also expressed deep gratitude for each one who contributed generously for this noble cause and who voluntarily came forward in support of this campaign.
