Body found in Morigaon; Flood toll 44

Flood waters continue its receding trend. But the affected people have yet to get out of the blues. The toll has gone up to 44 with the recovery of yet another body in Morigaon on Thursday. With this, the toll in Goalpara alone stands at 20 while 16 persons lost their lives in Kamrup Rural. These are apart from 6 in Guwahati and one each in Morigaon and Dhubri. According to official information, 242 villages in four districts are still reeling under the flood waves. In Goalpara, nearly 3.7 lakh people are affected, followed by around 15,000 in Kamrup Rural district.
