Flood toll mounts to 14

The flood toll has gone up to 14 during the last three days. The toll in Goalpara alone stands at 8 after cloudburst wreaked havoc in the Assam-Meghalaya border on Monday. Of them, 4 were women. Several people have been remaining traceless in the district. Guwahati has reported five deaths and Kamrup one.

Flash floods have washed away hundreds of houses at Bolbola, Molandubi, Karmakarpara, Karipara, Udaypur, Krishnai, Dudhnoi, Rangjuli, Majgaon and other parts of Goalpara and the authorities were still struggling to assess the total damage.
