Shankar Baruah cremated

The mortal remains of Shankar Baruah consigned to flames hours after the former DGP shot himself at his residence in Guwahati on Wednesday.

His last rites were performed at the Navagraha cremation ground in the evening.

Before the government officials and the Police officials paid tributes to his mortal remains at the 4th Assam Police Battalion headquarters at Kahilipara.

Chief secretary Jitesh Khosla laid a wreath on behalf of chief minister Gogoi. The Assam Police also gave a gun salute to the lifeless Baruah.
