Guitarist dies in mishap

A guitarist died a tragic death at a road mishap in Raha casting a spell of gloom in the area on Friday.

The incident took place when a speeding Indica car rammed into his two wheeler at Phulaguri at noon as he was trying to cross the four lane highway.

Identified as Lakshi Prashad Bora, the motorcyclist was a popular guitarist who was an inhabitant of Ghahi Bhaticuri village.

A degree student named Chintu Bordoloi , son of late Amrit Sing Bordoloi of kalikajuri village of Morigaon district committed suicide by jumping under the Brahmaputra Mail on August 9 at 10.30 am at Nakhula Grant , 2 km distance from Jagiroad station. Nagaon police on June 26th arrested Dr Harendra Barua, Sub-divisional Health and Medical officer of Barapujia Block of Nagaon district in connection with the National Rural Health Misssion NRHM) scam that was brought to light recently. Health hazard - corrupted health officials in police custody

Two health officials, Devajit Bhuyan, programme manager of the National Rural Health Mission ( NRHM ), Barapujia Development Block and Pradip Kumer Bora, accounts officer, NRHM, the aforesaid block have been sent to police custody by the Nagaon Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court on June 12. Lightning kills 16 cows in one spot at Raha

‘An undoubtedly tragic scene !’- People passed comment visiting the spot. It was on 8th April in the afternoon at around 4.10, while 16 cows died on the spot at Raha in Nagaon district. According to eyewitness , there was a heavy rain that continued for more than twenty minutes at Raha which was followed by strong lightning. The cows sheltered under a tree to keep themselves safe from the downpour. Unfortunately, they all were struck by lightning which led them all to death on the spot.
