The flood waters continue to show receding trend. But the level of woes refuses to die down in 18 flood hit districts till Monday.
The Brahmaputra and its tributaries have been maintaining their receding trend after inundating large number of villages during the last 23 days rendering over 13 lakh people homeless.
But the mighty river is still flowing above the danger level at Nematighat and Dibrugarh. The river Jai Bharali has been flowing below the danger level in Sonitpur.
The situation is still grim in Dhemaji, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Morigaon,.
The situation has improved in Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Karbi Anglong districts.
