Flood toll touches 20

 Two more people met watery grave on Saturday in the current flood waves that refuse to recede in 18 districts where were 16 lakh others remain affected.

According to State Disaster Management Authority, two new deaths took place in Barpeta and Sivasagar districts to take death toll to 20.

A total of 16,26,304 people have been affected due to the floods while 2,29,290 of them are still taking shelter in 512 relief camps set up by the district administrations.

A total of 1,846 villages, under 50 revenue circles of the 18 districts, were still under water.
