Intensify rescue and relief: Gogoi

 Chief minister Tarun Gogoi has directed the revenue and disaster management department to rescue the people trapped in the current wave of flood.

Gogoi has further directed the department to gear up relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected people on a war-footing.

In an order on Sunday, the CM asked the officials to be in constant touch with the administration of the flood hit districts to provide succour to the affected. 

The 15 flood hit districts  are Dhemaji, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Morigaon, Kamrup, Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Karbi Anglong have been affected by the flood.
