The Assam government will seek a CBI probe into the recent Assam-Nagaland border flare to unearth the truth.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi announced it when he met a delegation of 13 organizations in Guwahati on Friday evening. But, he said, the first priority would be to restore peace in the affected areas. He further said that the displaced people wuld be send back to their homes soon.
The chief minister assured the delegation that security measures would be in place, including permanent police pickets, in the affected areas to instill confidence among the border people apart from adequate rehabilitation measures.
Gogoi said that MGNERGA card would help the the affected people eke out their livelihood in these areas. //
