As many as sixteen people have been injured while a powerful bomb exploded in Tinsukia town at around 1 pm on Saturday. According to information, the blast took place at the busy GNB Road in front of a grocery. The injured people have been rushed to the hospital. High level police and civil officials have arrived in the spot to start operation. Meanwhile, one more crude bomb have been recovered just before a while. Details are awaited.

Three ULFA cadres have been killed in an encounter with army in Tihu in Nalbari district on Friday night. According to information, the incident took place at Khetrapara Ghairajan under Tinhu police station when army’s Kumaon regiment with the help of police launched an operation in the area resulting in the heavy exchange of firing. A suspected ULFA rebel died at a joint operation by police and Army in upper Assam's Sivasagar district on Tuesday morning. According to information, acting on a specific information, Army's 318 Field Regiment jawans and Charaideo police launched the operation at Rangalibatuwa area under Kakotibari police station in the district at around 3 in the morning.
