As many as sixteen people have been injured while a powerful bomb exploded in Tinsukia town at around 1 pm on Saturday. According to information, the blast took place at the busy GNB Road in front of a grocery. The injured people have been rushed to the hospital. High level police and civil officials have arrived in the spot to start operation. Meanwhile, one more crude bomb have been recovered just before a while. Details are awaited.

A major incident of blast was averted on Thursday when an improvised explosive devise was found near a polling station in Assam's Autonomous District (ST) Lok Sabha constituency.
Accoridng official sources, a police patrolling party found the IED at Disobai, under Bokolia police station of Karbi Anglong district early this morning prior to commencement of polling at 7 am.
Later police defused the bomb by disconnecting its wires, the sources said, adding, security was on high alert in the constituency comprising the twin hill districts of Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills district.

Two policemen died when DHD(J) rebels sprayed a goods train with bullets in North Cachar hills district on Saturday. According to information, the incident took place at Langting at around 7-30 in the morning as the Silchar bound good train reached the area.
