A KLNLF rebel and a civilian died at an encounter between militants and Army personnel near Dakomoka of Karbi Anglong district in Assam on Saturday morning. The incident took place an hour after the death of two policemen at an attack by DHD(J) militants in between Lumding to Badarpur.
According to information, a unit of Army personnel cornered a group of Karbi militants in Karbi Anglong district and one of the militants was killed in the cross fire while a civilian was also killed.
Meanwhile, the Karbi militant outfit has called for a 48 hour bndh in the hills districts on April 15 and 16 in protest against the kiling of its rebel in Saturday's encounter. The rebel outfit further has threatened atack on polling officials during the bandh hour.
