A major incident of blast was averted on Thursday when an improvised explosive devise was found near a polling station in Assam's Autonomous District (ST) Lok Sabha constituency. Accoridng official sources, a police patrolling party found the IED at Disobai, under Bokolia police station of Karbi Anglong district early this morning prior to commencement of polling at 7 am. Two policemen died when DHD(J) rebels sprayed a goods train with bullets in North Cachar hills district on Saturday. According to information, the incident took place at Langting at around 7-30 in the morning as the Silchar bound good train reached the area. The deceased were identified as Lalita Burahgohain and Bisheswar Bora. Caught in this situation, the North East Frontier railway authorities have cancelled all trains on this route.
