8 Cong MLAs to face the music! AICC is in a process to initiate action against Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma along with his close associates for violating the party’s rules and regulations.

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi has already suggested the party high command a slew of measures to end the dissidence within the legislative party.

During his meeting in New Delhi on Saturday with Ahmed Patel and Dr CP Joshi and AK Antony, the chief minister sought high command’s seal of approval for reshuffling his cabinet.

He is further believed to have urged high command to initiate action against Himanta Biswa Sarma and his close associates who have been taking on him for the last couple of months.

Gogoi has suggested show cause notices to Dr Sarma along with seven of his close associates alleging anti party activities to tarnish the party image.  

The trio assured Gogoi of taking up the case with party president Sonia Gandhi for her final seal of approval. Gogoi is further waiting to call on Gandhi who is hosting an Iftaar party on Sunday evening.
