Cabinet reshuffle is expected to dominate the meeting between Chief minister Tarun Gogoi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Saturday.
According to information, three top dissident MLAs are likely to be inducted in the cabinet. Gogoi is likely to get the green signal from Gandhi on Saturday to reshuffle the cabinet before the upcoming assembly session.
During this visit, the chief minister is also expected to meet vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday or Sunday who has already given him free hand to deal with the dissident camp led by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma resigned opposing Gogoi’s chief ministership while Gogoi dropped Siddique Ahmed and Adrhendu Dey. Chandan Brahma resigned from the cabinet last month when BPF parted ways with Congress.
The chief minister will have to induct three new ministers in his cabinet in the upcoming reshuffle.
