AGP takes on Modi govt

After Congress, now its time for AGP to take on the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

The Opposition party on Saturday has accused Modi of cheating Assam and its people.

In a memorandum set to Governor JB Patnaik, AGP alleged that the new government has done precious little to deport illegal Bangladeshi migrants.

“Modi had promised the people of Assam that all Bangladeshi immigrants would have to pack their bags and leave the state and country after May 16. But nothing has been done in that direction,” said the party.

AGP observed that the Modi government has no difference with the Manmohan Singh government in terms of anti-Assam conspiracy and vote bank politics.
