Curfew back in Salbari

Tension is simmering in Baksa forcing the authorities to clamp curfew a day after four lemon traders were believed to have been killed by NDFB-S militants after being kidnapped in the district on Friday.

Talking to Assam Times, authorities said that  indefinite curfew was clamped in Salbari sub-division under Gobardhana police station fearing an ethnic flare up.

Security forces are conducting a massive search to rescue the four traders. The army has also been called in and kept on stand by to deal with any untoward situation.

Four cycles and sandals were found from a nearby area. These were believed to have belonged to Bakar Ali, Saddam Ali, Ataur Rahman and Rahul Amin who were kidnapped at gunpoint at Labdanguri market in Salbari sub-division from adjacent Barpeta district.
