Dissidents threaten to float party

The dissident Congress legislators have mounted more pressure on the party high command to replace Tarun Gogoi as chief minister.

Sources told Assam Times that led by health and education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the dissident MLAs and ministers threatened to float a separate party if the party high command refuses to hold the CLP meeting.

They said that they are disappointed with party high command for retaining Gogoi as chief minister.

Further they have been waiting for party high command’s clear cut position. But there is no such indication.
