AG quits; govt accepts resignation

Advocate General Amrit Phukan has put in his papers on Thursday.

According to sources, the senior lawyer has sent his resignation letter to the authority which was accepted fortwith.

The government has confirmed that the resignation paper was accepted. The new advocate general would take over on Friday or Saturday.
